How stock moves through the business

Seven steps, start to finish. Pick a step to see what happens there and what you can read about it. Fifteen minutes end to end, and you will understand every number in the app.

Buy

Step 1 of 7

You decide what to order and from whom, and the order goes out. A purchase order is a promise: it records what you expect to arrive, at what price, and when.

Nothing about your stock changes at this step. Approving an order does not add a single unit — that happens when the goods physically turn up and someone counts them.

Goes up
Nothing. An order on its own holds no stock.
Doesn’t move
Stock. A promise from a supplier is not inventory.
Written down
The order, its lines, and the quantities you expect.
Watch out
An approved order can sit for weeks. Expected quantities are not available quantities, and nothing should be sold against them.
