How stock moves through the business
Seven steps, start to finish. Pick a step to see what happens there and what you can read about it. Fifteen minutes end to end, and you will understand every number in the app.
Make
Step 4 of 7Components become a finished item. The recipe says what goes in; building consumes those components and produces the item, at the location that did the work.
An assembled product is really three numbers: what you have built, what you could build right now from the components on hand, and what is actually available to sell once reservations are taken off.
- Goes up
- The finished item, at the location that built it.
- Doesn’t move
- Components held anywhere else. Building is location-specific.
- Written down
- One entry per component consumed, plus one for the item produced.
- Watch out
- Built and assemblable are different numbers. Say "we have 25 in stock, and the components to assemble 50 more" — never add them together.
