How stock moves through the business
Seven steps, start to finish. Pick a step to see what happens there and what you can read about it. Fifteen minutes end to end, and you will understand every number in the app.
Receive
Step 2 of 7A delivery turns up. Someone counts what actually arrived, submits it, and that is the moment the stock exists in the system — not when the order was placed, and not when the invoice lands.
Costing is deliberately a separate step afterwards. The floor should never have to hold a pallet while somebody hunts for the supplier's invoice.
- Goes up
- Stock at the location that received it.
- Doesn’t move
- What a unit costs. That waits for the costing step.
- Written down
- One permanent ledger entry. Nothing recorded here is ever deleted.
- Watch out
- Receiving more than you ordered is allowed, and it is recorded as an over-delivery rather than silently trimmed.
